Another excellent 2 wins for the 99's. First up was against Forth Utd where we saw the boys starting to show some great composure when on the ball and some fine support play all over the field. Some fine finishing from Rhys and Connor B with a double and a belter from Higgy at the end that kept him smiling all weekend. :D Fab display boys !!

Even better again was the performance last weekend against a fine Tynecastle team that sent Coltswood into the last 16 of the Scottish cup. :P  Boys are starting to show a fine maturity and confidence is growing after a magnificent team display. Patience is a key factor in football games where both sides are more or less evenly matched and after a close first half, boys really excelled second half with some fine passing and movement. Goals from Kieran, Connor N, Connor B and OJ rounded off a much deserved victory. All the boys had a great game but special mention to Lewis who was up there for a man of the match performance with some lovely runs and unselfish passes which set up some of our scores and also some fine defending in midfield. Twas a great team performance guys, Well done everyone. Keep up the hard work. ;)  On to the last 16  :D

Well done to the 99's again. 2 excellent wins with the first against Linlithgow. Excellent passing by all and a 5 goal performance from Connor capped off a wonderful display. :D

An even better performance the following week in the Scottish cup saw off a determined Finnart that sends us into the last 32 of the cup. Work ethic and movement was excellent guys and everyone seems to be aiming for that level of consistency that's so important to success. Some fine finishing from Kieran and Thomas and Rhys but a special mention must go to the back four of Thomas, Connor, Carson and Clarkey.  :P Thought you guys were immense. Fabulous !!  ;)

First defeat in over 15 matches guys against Blackburn in the Regional cup.  Personally I put it down to some compacency and quite a few guys just not performing to their capabilities. Hard lesson guys but its probably the wake up call that was needed. It's no use blaming referees on match day either, although on this occasion, I myself was shocked at the standard of refereeing in this game and its easy to see why the boys can get frustrated. On the plus side given the changes we had to make, I still think we tried to play football and move the ball about the park.

Good to see the hunger and desire return to the team last saturday against Craigshill. Boys played some excellent football and their was some well taken goals from Robbie & Patrick, hat-trick hero Thomas, Lewis and Rhys. Special mention to Higgy who had an excellent game at full back and Kieran for some fine assists. Liam also for two great saves, one a penalty. :D Everyone put in a fine performance. Well done everybody. :P

99's still unbeaten this season, however boys were dissapointed to drop a point against Syngenta Grange last week , especially when the game was there for the taking. Although Syngenta put up a fine show and had a couple of shots on goal, boys realise that they must show better composure in front of goal given the numerous chances they had. :|  On the positive side we are playing good football and creating plenty of chances and boys working hard on their finishing in training. This game was follwed up by a very fine and competent performance in the Regional cup against Bathgate Rose. It was good to give some of our fringe players a good run in this game and with some positional changes the boys were comfortable winners in the end.  ;) Keep up the great work boys. ;)

PARENTS:  Could you please ask your boy to read the "Football Rules" page. This is very important for the boys as they now play competitive football. :| Thks

Well done to the 99's on their continued success with another 2 wins in the league. Midweek game was somewhat of a slog as Armadale put up a stiff resistance but boys persisted with their gameplan and got the deserved result in the end and a couple of fine goals from Patrick and Thomas. Remember boys 'Soft' penalties will be given at times but you must not let it affect your game. Thought Liam was unlucky with the goal as I thought it was too dark and match should have finished earlier. Well done again as boys were in good goalscoring form against Craigshill. Special mention to Higgy who bagged 2 goals but more impressively, unselfishly laid on a goal for Robbie whilst he had a chance to go for a hat-trick. That's the Team Spirit!!. :P

Can I also add our deepest sympathies to Rhys and his family, for his Gran, who passed away last week. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all.

Two cracking performances in the last 3 days guys. :D Against a very good team in Blackburn Utd last thursday,  having conceded an early goal, after that I thought we dominated for long periods in all areas of the park and some of the build up play was very impressive. The guys are showing a great level of maturity and are really beginning to understand the importance of game plan and shape and structure. Some fine finishing from Patrick and Lewis and some near misses were very pleasing on the eye. Was good to hear the ref after the game congratulating the boys on the way they played and this was also backed up by the Blackburn coach. ;)

In the Regional Cup today, the boys have had another excellent game with a different set up again and was most pleased with how they are starting to adapt to different formations when asked. Again we conceded first but soon got into our rhythm of passing and moving the ball about and creating plenty of chances which is what we constantly work on in training. Though our Central pairing of Conlon and Jordan deserve a special mention here as they are showing a great level of understanding and maturity that is required in this part of the team. Thought these two were excellent and worked exceptionally hard. Some lovely goals also and once again everyone working hard to achieve that all important level as a team, consistency!!   Brilliant Guys!!  :P
